The Indian national flag, called Tiranga, was adopted on July 22, 1947. It has three colors: saffron for courage, white for peace, and green for prosperity.

Designed by Pingali Venkayya, the flag represents India's freedom struggle and unity in diversity. The Ashoka Chakra represents the eternal wheel of law.
